I've been trained as a documentary filmmaker and video artist, but have always thought of my work as experimental and critical. My basis in "documentary" underpins my respect for non-fiction, but I know there's no such thing as an unmediated image - and so it's all fiction.
I'm also attracted to appropriated imagery, and believe that if I see something in my travels through the media, then it's at risk to become material for my work.
I've only recently started exploring drawing and illustration - let's see where it takes me. I like if because it's very spontaneous and gestural. It's appealing to me because it's concrete and tangible and verbal.
Now that I've begun making work again, I need to update my influences.
